At SUHO, we believe that every homeowner deserves to live in a comfortable, affordable and energy-efficient home. That's why we were thrilled to work with a recent client to showcase the impact that our optimisation service can have on a home's efficiency.
The project began with a base NatHERS rating of 7.6 stars, which is already an impressive score. However, our team was able to push the rating even higher, achieving a final score of 9.4 stars. The house was designed to utilise passive strategies for thermal performance, making it easy for our team to make the necessary adjustments. Located in climate zone 6, the 249.43m2 home on a west-facing block was the perfect candidate for energy optimisation.
Our team provided a range of services included in our Homeowner’s Pack to help the homeowner achieve their energy efficiency goals. From analysing energy bills and considering all electric appliances in the home to offering a Cost-Benefit Analysis for different optimisation features, we had everything covered. We also conducted a Thermal Comfort Analysis, Temperature Distribution Comparison, and a Net Zero Analysis to ensure that the home was running at its most efficient. Finally, we performed a Shading Analysis to protect the home from the sun's heat while still allowing natural light in.
The project was led by assessor Sumit and project organiser Ben W, with assistance from Ben K. Our team's expertise and commitment to sustainability made this project a success and we were proud to play a part in helping this homeowner achieve their goals.
