SUHO Studio announced the WINNER of the BDAV 10 Star Challenge

We are very excited to announce that our SUHOstudio design team have been awarded WINNERS of the BDAV 10 Star Challenge 2017!

Congratulations to the other impressive finalists The Sociable Weaver and Melbourne Design Studios and to the Building Designers Association of Victoria for facilitating the competition.

Promoting a change in the approach to our housing typology, this design responds to market demand for aesthetics and generous proportions, while achieving innovative passive design. strategies and delivering affordability. Versatility is achieved through minimum 920mm wide doorways for wheelchair access and a fat framed roof structure engineered to support the loads on an additional level, providing adaptability for a growing family. From native plantings to the internal finishes, the focus on sustainability is carried throughout the design enabling Gold Standard to be achieved using the eTool Life Cycle Assessment, ensuring the embodied energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions are minimised.
